The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew departed today, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, for Luxembourg where he will make a short private visit at the invitation of Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium.
Accompanying the Ecumenical Patriarch are Tritevon Varnavas and Pantelis Vigas, Megas Chartophylax.
During the absence of the Patriarch, the Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi has been appointed as Locum Tenens. Together with Grand Protosyncellos Gregory, they accompanied the Patriarch to Constantinople Airport.
The Ecumenical Patriarch is expected to return on Saturday, and on Sunday he will preside at the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Valino.
