The Ecumenical Patriarch at the Sacrament of Holy Unction (PHOTOS)

On Holy Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew attended the celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Unction.

Also participating in prayer were Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra; Ambassador Konstantinos Koutas, Consul General of Greece; and a large number of faithful.

That morning, the Patriarch presided over the final Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts.

Furthermore, the Ecumenical Patriarch presided at the Patriarchal Church during:

a) the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts on the morning of Holy Monday (April 6);

b) the Bridegroom Service on the evening of the same day;

c) the Bridegroom Service on the evening of Holy Tuesday, April 7.

Metropolitan Theodore of Seleucia presided over the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts on the morning of Holy Tuesday, April 7.
