The Consul General of Greece in Geneva, Eleni Petroula, held a ceremonial meeting on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with Metropolitan Maximos of Switzerland, Hypertimos and Exarch of Europe, in the presence of the Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne, Mr. Vasileios Kotrotsios.
During this first meeting, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to continuing close cooperation, aimed at supporting the Greek community of the region.
The Consul General assured the Metropolitan of the importance the Hellenic Republic places on strengthening Orthodox communities of the Diaspora around the world, under the guidance of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
