On the Ohi Day, October 28, the Greeks of Sweden celebrated with Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and all Scandinavia, who performed a Doxology on Sunday at the sacred church of St. George in Stockholm.
In a diocesan circular published the day before, Metropolitan Cleopas stated inter alia that over time, the events of a people acquire a different meaning for anyone who wishes to go into historical memory and not simply read the events.
“The epic of ’40 -the Greco-Italian war- is the triumph of the ordinary Greek, the greatness of those who, through their acts of heroism, managed to cross the threshold of eternity,” he said.
