Upon invitation of the Anglican Bishop of Tasmania, Dr Richard Condie, Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis visited Hobart and attended the Anglican Cathedral of St David for a service praying for those in the legal profession.
The service was attended by Mrs Barbara Baker, the Mayor of Hobart, Mrs Anna Reynolds, Senior Judges of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and people of the legal profession.
Apart from the Bishop of Charioupolis, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Tasmania, Julian Porteous, also attended and took part in the service.
The Bishop of Charioupolis was accompanied by Irenaues Kiokas, Parish Priest of the church of St George Hobart.
At the end of the service Bishop Bartholomew conveyed to the Governor of Tasmania and the Roman Catholic Archbishop the love and respect of Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
