Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain is lending a helping hand to those who are being tested during this time.
In an announcement, Archbishop Nikitas acknowledges the multitude of challenges people are facing because of the issues raised by the coronavirus.
“In response to this cry and plea, the Archdiocese whishes to offer the love of the Church,” he says.
He urges believers to contact their local parish for additional information on how to follow the services, which, although churches remain closed for public worship, can still be accessed through various media.
He also invites those in need of psychological support and assistance to contact their respective parish priest as certified counselors are ready to offer their assistance to community members needing this support.
Also, since there are community members who are facing serious financial issues, including students who cannot travel home, the Archdiocese is accepting monetary support as well as non-perishable food items to assist those in need, so they may celebrate Easter too.
