On the morning of Tuesday, September 22, the Archbishop Elpidophoros of America paid his first official visit to Saint Basil’s Academy in New York.
The Academy is an organization of the Holy Archdiocese of America, which accommodates and takes care of children, providing them with a loving Christian environment until their adulthood.
Archbishop Elpidophoros had the opportunity to meet the children and the staff of St. Basil’s Academy, as well as to be guided by the director, Fr. Kostas Sitaras, in its wonderful facilities.
In addition, he performed Trisagion on the tomb of his predecessor, Blessed Archbishop Michael.
In his message, the Archbishop of America stressed that the Academy is an invaluable part of the Archdiocese’s tradition for many generations, noting that it must continue to support the important work it performs.
