Archbishop Elpidophoros of America is in Boston, and in particular, at the Holy Cross School of Theology, where he regularly holds meetings and talks with the current administrators, professors and students, the members of the Ephorate and other actors on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year.
As Archbishop Elpidoforos has announced from the moment of his enthronement, the School of Theology is at the top of his priorities.
He will first try to rescue its academic recognition from the competent authorities and then proceed to its reorganization and development.
It is noteworthy that the academic year begins with only 126 students, with the possibility of reaching 130 for both Schools, namely the Hellenic College Holy Cross (HCHC) and the Greek Orthodox School of Theology.
Today afternoon, Friday, September 13, at 5 o’clock, on the eve of the Universal Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross where the School celebrates its name, the Archbishop will officiate in the festal Vespers in the Chapel of the School and the cross will be delivered to the students.
On Saturday, September 14, he will preside at the archieratic Divine Liturgy at the Chapel of School. The Boston and New England’s Greek Communities will be able to participate in both Liturgies.
On Sunday, September 15, he will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, which will mark his first official visit to the Metropolis of Boston.
