On June 24, 2025, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia met with Anna Lugon-Moulin, the Swiss Ambassador to Serbia, at the Patriarchal Residence in Belgrade.
During their first official meeting, Patriarch Porfirije warmly welcomed Ambassador Lugon-Moulin and wished her success in the Serbian capital. He expressed his confidence that her diplomatic mission would contribute to strengthening the relationship between Serbia and Switzerland.
In an open and cordial atmosphere, the two exchanged views on important issues concerning bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Switzerland, as well as contemporary global challenges.
The Patriarch emphasized the importance of interreligious dialogue, an area in which the Serbian Orthodox Church has worked consistently for decades. He stressed that such dialogue is a vital means of preserving peace and fostering mutual understanding among peoples. He underlined the essential role of the Church as a bridge of cooperation, solidarity, and reconciliation.
Ambassador Lugon-Moulin, for her part, informed the Patriarch about Switzerland’s current activities in Serbia and noted that relations between the two countries are founded on mutual respect and a shared commitment to progress.
Also present at the meeting were Protopresbyter George Stojisavljević, director of the Office of the Patriarch of Serbia, and Mr. Mladen Andrejić, a member of the same office.
