The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Syria, Mr. Khalifa Abdullah Al Mahmoud, conveyed the condolences of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, for the martyrs of Saint Elias Church in the Douela district to Patriarch John X, whom he met at the Patriarchal Residence in Damascus.
The ambassador expressed his condemnation of the heinous massacre and emphasized the need to strengthen civil peace.
For his part, the Patriarch thanked the State of Qatar and the Emir personally for their fraternal solidarity with the Church of Antioch and affirmed that what occurred was an attack on the entire fabric of Syrian society.
