With the formality and participation of many faithful of the local church and with the grace of the Triune God, the 3rd Salutations to the Theotokos took place in the Church of Saint Spyridon, South Clayton, officiated by Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis.
At the end of the Salutations Service, the Parish Dean Fr. George Athanasiadis, assistant Parish Priest Fr. Panagiotis, and the President of the Parish – Community Mr. A. Mandalos offered Bishop Kyriakos a Hierarchical Egolpion. The Bishop, most moved by this expression of love offered to Him, thanked the Parish Dean and the members of the Parish Council for their love as well as for the gift they offered him; Recognising the struggle and effort made by this community over time.
Bishop Kyriakos invited all the faithful into the embrace of the Church and to the new effort of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia and urged them to feel that the embrace of the Archdiocesan District of Melbourne is open to all and that he wishes to hear them all one by one, and assured them that he would be by their side in every endeavor.
Bishop Kyriakos also conveyed the paternal blessings and prayers of Archbishop Makarios of Australia and wished the parish community a blessed period of Great and Holy Lent.
Finally, a thanksgiving meal was offered by the Philoptochos association of the Parish Community.
