Syrian Minister of Education Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahman Turko met with Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East to discuss the role of education in building individuals and society and promoting national and ethical values.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Nawar Najma, a member of the People’s Assembly.
During the discussions, the Minister emphasized the ministry’s efforts to ensure access to education for every Syrian child, while also focusing on students’ broader development and the promotion of positive values and behavior.
He noted that, beginning with the next academic year, the ministry plans to activate activity halls in schools as part of efforts to strengthen the ethical and behavioral development of students.
For his part, Patriarch John X expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Ministry of Education in developing Syria’s educational system.
The Patriarch stressed the importance of knowledge and education in shaping individuals and strengthening social cohesion, highlighting their broader contribution to the development of Syrian society.
