The Orthodox Church of Ukraine celebrated today the Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women. Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and all Ukraine presided over the Divine Liturgy at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Kyiv.
In his message, which was posted on social media, the Metropolitan sent his wishes to all the faithful of the Church.
“On this day we focus on Christians, who, thanks to true and practical faith in God, self-denying love and mental strength, serve their neighbor and change the world for the better,” said the Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine.
The Metropolitan sent his wishes to the women, saying: “On this day, which is a church women’s holiday, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and I congratulate you, dear sisters in Christ.
You are the modern envoys of peace and love. You take care of your relatives and loved ones every day. With self-denial, you perform your ministry in churches and monasteries, in medical institutions close to the patients and the borders of our state, defending its independence.
Wherever you are, wherever you work, remember that your good deeds, carried out with Christian love, are seen by the Almighty. Thank you very much; despite the various difficulties, you continue to be committed to the multiplication of the good.”
