The students of the schools of the Metropolis of Gjirokastër honored the Three Hierarchs with a festive program held at the facilities of the Nine-Year School, in the presence of Metropolitan Nathanael of Gjirokastër. The students of the Educational Institutions of the Metropolis of Gjirokastër, founded by the late Archbishop Anastasios, marked the feast of the Three Hierarchs with reverence and joy.
The event included choral hymns, readings of excerpts from the writings of the Three Hierarchs, the recitation of poems, and other presentations. Metropolitan Nathanael addressed the children, wishing them progress in life grounded in the moral values of faith.
He added: “The Church has proclaimed the Three Hierarchs as the patrons of education, students, university students, and educators, presenting them as models of holistic formation, where knowledge is not separated from morality and science is not divorced from faith. Their message remains ever relevant: true education is not merely the accumulation of knowledge, but the formation of the inner person.”
Earlier in the day, the students attended the Divine Liturgy celebrated by Metropolitan Nathanael at the Cathedral Church of the Resurrection in Gjirokastër.
