The Church of Saint Georgios is on the way to being completed on the banks of the Kafue River in Northern Zambia.
The construction works are underway in accordance with the schedule despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic. By the Grace of God, the inauguration of the church will take place on the Feast of Great Martyr Georgios.
The cornerstone of the church was laid by Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia on the 13th of May 2020. The church will be a safe haven for the Greek community of Copperbelt. Just like products are taken on board ship as supplies, Saint Georgios will be “supplying” spiritual knowledge to the Greek faithful.
