With particular splendor and deep national emotion, the Greek diaspora of Zambia honored, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, the anniversary of Greek Independence.
The celebratory events took place at the Community Church of Saint Alexander, in the presence of the Consuls of Greece and Cyprus.
The festive Doxology was presided over by Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia and Mozambique, and was followed by a school celebration held inside the church.
The ceremonial address of the day was delivered by the Director of the Greek School, Ms. Rania Tsirigoti, while the Consul General of Greece, Mr. Michalis Krupnik, read the official message of the President of the Hellenic Republic.
The ceremony concluded with the laying of a wreath in memory of the heroes of 1821 and the customary traditional treat at the Greek school.
