Patriarch Irinej of Serbia officiated the Divine Liturgy in the chapel of St. Justin of Celije, next to the Church of St. Nicholas of Ohrid and Zica, in Resnik on June 14, 2020.
The Divine Liturgy was concelebrated by Bishop’s Dean of Belgrade-Posavina, Archpriest-Staurophore Branko Mitrovic, Archpriest Aleksandar Petrović, Priests Goran Mišanović and Ljubomir Petronijević, Archdeacon Stevan Rapajić, Deacons Dragan Tanasijević, Goran Nuhanović and Nikola Mićalovic.
After the Liturgy, Patriarch Irinej visited the magnificent Church of St. Nicholas in process of construction, which is reminiscent of King Milutin’s endowments in terms of monumentality. For the construction of the church according to the project of the architect Vladislav Lalicki, next to the principal of the church, Priest Aleksandar Milutinović, a descendant of Rev. Ratomir Milutinović, former parish priest at the Church of St. Nicholas at the New Cemetery, the credit goes to the founder, Sanja Jakovljević, owner of the company Beorol; the contractor – the company As-inženjering, numerous contributors and faithful people.
It should be mentioned that the Patriarch consecrated the foundations of the Church of Saint Nicholas on the same day when he consecrated the chapel of St. Justin of Celije on May 7, 2017.
The church assembly was attended, in addition to numerous faithful people, by the hosts of the feast, Nebojsa Tripic and Dragan Arsic, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Milosav Miličković, the President of the Municipality of Rakovica, Vladan Kocic, the founder of the church, numerous contributors and benefactors.
