On Tuesday, October 22, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew celebrated the 33rd anniversary of his election and elevation to the Ecumenical Throne. The occasion was marked with a solemn Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Church, presided over by the Grand Protosyncellus Gregory. The Patriarch offered prayers of gratitude to God for the blessings and graces received throughout his tenure.
That evening, a commemorative dinner in honor of the Patriarch was held at a Greek-American restaurant in Constantinople. Among the attendees were esteemed Hierarchs of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Ambassador Konstantinos Koutras, Consul General of Greece, and Metropolitan Nathaniel of Chicago, who was in the city for the work of the Holy and Sacred Synod. Metropolitan Nathaniel was accompanied by members of the Greek expatriate community from his province.
During the dinner, Patriarch Bartholomew exchanged souvenirs with the event’s organizer, highlighting the significance of the day and strengthening the bonds of friendship and collaboration among those present.
