At a critical moment in its history, the Holy Monastery of Sinai has announced the convening of an extraordinary General Assembly of the Sinaitic Brotherhood.
The assembly, scheduled for Sunday, September 14, at 11:00 a.m., aims to hold elections for the appointment of the new Abbot and Archbishop of Sinai.
The Election Process
According to the official invitation issued by the Secretariat of the Holy Monastery, the election process will follow specific stages, detailed as follows:
- Appointment of the Chairperson and Secretary of the Assembly
- Finalization of the list of regular members of the Sinaitic Brotherhood and those eligible to vote in the election
- Compilation of the list of candidates
- Approval of the agreement text between the Archbishop and the Brotherhood
- Determination of the details of the electoral procedure
- Appointment of the electoral committee
