The Patriarchate of Antioch organized the first dialogue-based seminar titled “Citizenship and Civil Society” at the Saint George Church hall in the Jimira district of Damascus.
The discussion focused on the definition of citizenship, its historical roots, its significance, and its implications for the current situation in Syria.
In addition, the seminar explored the Syrian people’s acceptance of the concept of citizenship and the readiness of the new administration to recognize and adopt this institution.
It was emphasized that Christians are fully integrated as citizens and an inseparable part of Syrian society.
The discussions helped to highlight political issues such as the Constitution, elections, and politics in general, while underscoring the importance of active participation in public discourse, political and social life, and openness to all components of the Syrian population, to build a common future for all.
