Saint John Kaloktenes, Byzantine Metropolitan of Thebes and Exarch of all Viotia, was celebrated by the local church on May 7.
On Monday afternoon, May 6, at the church of the patron saint of Thebes, Saint John Kaloktenes, Bishop Chrysostomos of Evripos officiated at the Vespers, along with Metropolitan David of Grevena and Metropolitan George of Thebes.
God’s Word was preached by Bishop Chrysostomos of Evripos, who referred to the life of St. John Kaloktenes.
On Tuesday morning, May 7, Metropolitan David of Grevena officiated at the Divine Liturgy along with Metropolitan George and Bishop Chrysostomos.
During his sermon, Metropolitan David referred to the love of Christ, stressing that this love has two sides; on the one hand the sacrifice and on the other the Resurrection.
In the end, and before the procession, Metropolitan George referred to the personality of Saint John Kaloktenes and cordially thanked Metropolitan David and Bishop Chrysostomos.
