On Monday, September 30, 2024, a Sacred Vigil was held at the Greek Orthodox Parish of Milan in honor of the Feast of the Virgin Mary of Gorgoepikoos, celebrated on October 1st.
The Vigil was officiated by the parish priest, Archimandrite Fr. Ioannis Batsis. Immediately after, a Blessing of Water ceremony took place for the beginning of the month.
Since 2023, the parish has been home to a large replica of the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, which was obtained with the blessing of Metropolitan Polycarpos of Italy, who holds a particular devotion to the Virgin Mary of Gorgoepikoos.
This replica, a gift from devout Christians, embodies the love and faith of the parish and serves as a refuge and a source of comfort and spiritual support for all the parishioners.
