Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev met Ambassador of Russia to Skopje Sergey Bazdnikin on Monday, who presented him with a copy of a note verbale, stating that “according to a decision of the President of the Russian Federation, the Russian Federation recognizes the Republic of North Macedonia by its new constitutional name”.
In a relevant announcement by the government of North Macedonia, it is also noted that the Prime Minister of North Macedonia and the Russian Ambassador confirmed their countries’ commitment to maintaining their traditional good relations through active dialogue.
According to the announcement, the meeting has placed great emphasis on the possibilities of strengthening economic cooperation, as shown, inter alia, by the 90% increase in exports of fresh fruit and vegetables from North Macedonia to Russia in January 2019 compared to the same month in 2018.
