Romania’s National Cathedral has been digitally recreated in a virtual environment as part of a project developed on the Orthocraft server within the popular video game Minecraft.
According to the server’s creator, the reconstruction faithfully reflects the grandeur of the real cathedral. In a post shared on Instagram, the developer explained that the project captures the building’s impressive scale and architectural beauty.
“This reconstruction captures the impressive scale of the real cathedral, from its vast interior and imposing dome to its iconography, chandeliers, and architectural details, all recreated with accuracy and respect for Orthodox tradition,” the creator wrote.
Users who join the Orthocraft server can freely explore the digital version of the cathedral. In addition to the National Cathedral, players can discover other churches, monasteries, and Orthodox complexes recreated from various parts of the world. Participants are also invited to join the community and contribute to building additional virtual spaces inspired by Christian heritage.
The Orthocraft platform is considered the first Minecraft server in the world dedicated exclusively to Orthodox Christian faith, sacred architecture, history, and Christian community life. The initiative aims to bring together gamers, young people, digital creators, and believers in a virtual space where faith is expressed through creativity and respect for Christian tradition.
