As the day starts “earlier” in Australia due to its time zone, Romanians from this country were the first in the Romanian Diaspora to celebrate the feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
The worship place has been recently restored and it was reconsecrated on July 1st, 2018, when it was also given a new patron: Holy Hierarch Andrei Șaguna, because there are many faithful from Transylvania in Australia.
Holy Hierarch Andrei Șaguna will also be one of the patrons of the first monastery built by the Orthodox Romanians in the Southern Hemisphere – at Melton, in the Australian state of Victoria.
