The monastic synaxis of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada, held from July 17 to 19 at the Monastery of the Elevation of the Holy Cross and St. Ephraim the New in Mono, Ontario, resulted in three decisions with significant impact on the life of the diocese across the ocean.
The following resolutions were adopted:
- The continuation of translation work into English and French of the Regulations for the Organization of Monastic Life;
- The creation of a monastic fund to support specific monastic activities;
- The development of a video/media presentation program to showcase monastic projects within the Diocese, aimed at encouraging fundraising and broader participation in such initiatives.
- In addition to these decisions, it was also agreed that all monastics in the Diocese would participate in the subsequent two all-night vigils.
The synaxis was attended by Bishop Ioan Casian, Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Canada, who celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the opening of the proceedings. Other participants included: Protosyncellus Corneliu Andrașco, Protosyncellus Maxim Morariu, Hieromonk Policarp Athenagoras, and Nun Ana Bulgariu.
