Romanian Ambassador Dan Mihalache paid a visit on Saturday to Archbishop George of Cyprus, highlighting the close relations between the sister Orthodox Churches of Romania and Cyprus.
The meeting took place in the context of the Romanian diplomat concluding his mandate in Cyprus after five years in office.
In a message published on his personal Facebook page, the ambassador emphasised the relationship that had been built over time with the Primate of the Church of Cyprus.
“Over the course of these five years of mandate, we built a relationship of cooperation and, I would say, even friendship with His Beatitude, beginning from the period when he was Metropolitan of Paphos.”
“I am pleased that I was able, even modestly, to contribute to the strengthening and development of relations between the Orthodox Church of Cyprus and the Romanian Orthodox Church,” Ambassador Dan Mihalache said.
