Today, Wednesday, a man remains trapped on Mount Athos, with rescue forces from the fire department working nearby. According to makthes.gr, eight firefighters and a rescue team have reached the vicinity of the stranded individual. However, the challenging terrain has hindered their efforts to safely secure and extract him.
The incident was reported to the fire brigade and police at 12:50 PM, following the man’s entrapment in a cave. From the outset, it was anticipated that the rescue operation could extend over several hours due to the difficult conditions.
Rescue teams continue to work diligently to ensure the safe removal of the trapped person.
