The Feast of Saints Cyril and Methodius, Apostles to the Slavs, was celebrated solemnly today, Friday, May 24.
On this day, it is the name day of the primate of the Orthodox Church of Russia, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’.
The Patriarchal Divine Liturgy was held with the participation of dozens of hierarchs and clerics in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
The Divine Liturgy was concelebrated by representatives of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the Patriarchate of Antioch, the Patriarchate of Bulgaria, the Patriarchate of Georgia, the Patriarchate of Serbia, the Church of Cyprus, the Church of Poland and the Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.
It must be noted that Metropolitan Christoforos of Kyriakoukopolis from the Patriarchate of Jerusalem was prayerfully attending in the altar.
During the Divine Liturgy, Patriarch Kirill prayed for the unity of the Church.
The Patriarch of Moscow, on his name day, as every year, awarded medals and offices to hierarchs and clerics.
