By decision of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church – Bulgarian Patriarchate, the relics of Saint Patriarch Euthymius of Tarnovo will be brought to Sofia. Bishop Sionii, the abbot of the Troyan and Bachkovo monasteries, will transport the relics to the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky.
The relics will be received on Saturday, June 29, at 11 o’clock. They will be placed next to the miraculous icon of the Mother of God, allowing the newly elected Bulgarian patriarch to pay his respects to his predecessor and seek his intercession and help.
The relics will be available for the faithful to pay their respects and venerate on Monday, July 1, in the Patriarchal Cathedral.
