Professor of Microbiology Alkiviadis Vatopoulos spoke on MEGA TV channel, regarding the developments on the coronavirus front.
Asked if the Churches would be open during Christmas, the Professor replied that “churches, like other crowded places, probably will be closed during Christmas”.
He added that if the cases are reduced, the pressure on the health system will begin to decrease. “We have one more month; I hope that during Christmas the situation will be a little better. The 500-600 cases is a big number, as is the positivity of the cases in the tests that are done, which is now around 10%, and the spread of the virus throughout Greece. I am afraid that while in Athens and Thessaloniki the measures are observed more seriously, I am not sure if the province has realized the gravity of the situation”.
“We all hope for the vaccine but this winter the movements must be very limited and with all precautions”, the professor continued.
