With pomp and circumstance, the recovery of the Holy Icon Panagia Portaitissa from the sea was celebrated today, Tuesday of Bight Week, in the Monastery of Iviron and in its metochion, the Monastery of Kornofolia in Soufli.
Metropolitan Damaskinos of Didimoticho, accompanied by Metropolitan Meliton of Philadelphia, celebrated the consecration ceremony of waters of the spring in the Monastery of Kornofolia.
Afterwards, there was a procession of a copy of the Holy Icon of Panagia Portaitissa flanked by dozens of pious pilgrims.
