Despite the precautionary measures in force to stem the spread of the coronavirus, a priest celebrated the Divine Liturgy in a chapel, in the area of Triandria, in Thessaloniki, in the presence of believers on Sunday morning.
As reported by voria.gr, police officers went to the chapel of the Holy Chapel of Spyridon in Triandria shortly after 10 am. Eight believers were also found inside the chapel.
The police officers of the region issued a fine of € 1,500 to the 56-year-old priest and of € 300 to each faithful.
It is noteworthy that a case-file has been opened against the priest by the police authorities.
