The President of Malta, George Vella welcomed Atanasie of Bogdania, Assistant Bishop to the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Italy, at San Anton Palace on Monday, June 28.
The meeting was attended by: Lino Bianco, Malta’s Ambassador to Romania, Fr. George Alexandru Popescu, parish priest of the Romanian community in Malta, and Andreea Popescu, the coordinator of the youth department of the Romanian parish.
President George Vella posted details about the meeting on social media.
“Together we discussed the Romanian Community living in Malta, their culture, and language. Atanasie expressed his gratitude towards the kindness and hospitality of the Maltese People towards the Romanian nationals living in Malta,” President Vella noted.
Assistant Bishop Atanasie of Bogdania visited Malta to attend the patronal feast of the Romanian parish in the Maltese Republic.
