Members of the Elbasan Interreligious Cooperation Center, in which the local Orthodox Metropolitan Antonios participates, were received by the President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj.
During the meeting, the religious representatives of Elbasan told the President that, through this cooperation, social tensions have been avoided and conditions of peaceful coexistence have been ensured within a multi-religious environment. They emphasized that ongoing dialogue and joint initiatives among the religious communities have helped maintain social harmony and mutual respect.
President Begaj, in turn, noted that this original model of interreligious cooperation is recognized and praised for its positive results not only within Albania, but also internationally. He underlined the importance of such initiatives in strengthening social cohesion and promoting a culture of peace.
It is worth noting that only a few days earlier, the religious communities of Albania sent a message of peace and fraternity to the people and political leaders of the country through a joint peace march in Elbasan. The annual march is organized by the Elbasan Interreligious Cooperation Center, each year focusing on a different theme.
