By order of the Turkish president, the government will distribute potatoes and onions to the poor and needy families of Turkey.
As reported by kathimerini.gr, Erdogan, in order to support both potato and onion growers, but also to help the poor that are growing daily in his country, announced the decision himself.
“We decided to buy the potatoes and onions that remain in the warehouses and we will distribute them to the people in need and we will do it before Ramadan. 1.2 million tons of potatoes and about 300,000 tons of onions, will be bought by the state and will be given to our citizens, the poor and needy,” he said.
The opposition claims that the appointment of the Turkish president is a sign of the economic crisis in Turkey.
