The Vatican announced that Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to undertake his first apostolic journey abroad at the end of November. He will visit Ankara, Constantinople, and Nicaea before going to Lebanon.
He is expected to arrive in Ankara on November 27, where he will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Then, he will travel to the Phanar to meet with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and attend the official Feast of Saint Andrew celebrations. The two leaders of Christendom will then travel together to Nicaea to commemorate the 1,700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council.
From November 30 to December 2, Pope Leo will visit Lebanon, where he will meet with the country’s religious and political leaders.
