Pope Francis, aged 88, remains in critical condition on his tenth day at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, where he is being treated for double pneumonia.
The Vatican Press Office announced on Monday that “the night passed well; the Pope slept and is resting.” Despite his serious condition, the Pontiff is alert and continues to receive high-flow oxygen therapy. Recent blood tests have indicated early signs of mild kidney insufficiency, which are currently under control.
The Pope’s prognosis remains guarded due to the complexity of his clinical situation. Faithful around the world continue to offer prayers for his recovery.
