Pope Francis said today that he is praying for the Chinese who have been affected by the new coronavirus, hoping that they will recover soon.
“A prayer for our Chinese brothers and sisters who are affected by this ‘cruel’ epidemic. May they find a path to recovery as soon as possible,” the Pontiff said during the weekly General Audience held every Wednesday.
Covid-19 casualties are rising, with death toll now reaching 1,115 and cases at 45,000, according to the latest Chinese health authorities report. Most patients are registered in the Hubei province and especially in its capital city Wuhan.
