As part of the strategic vision of the Archdiocese of America and Archbishop Elpidophoros to enhance Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Boston, the National Philoptochos Society has announced a generous grant of $300,000. This significant contribution aims to modernize the campus by upgrading both its technological infrastructure and facilities, further supporting its mission of theological education and spiritual formation.
This funding will primarily focus on enhancing and strengthening IT systems, while also addressing infrastructure in need of renovation and repair.
Once again, the Philoptochos Society demonstrates its unwavering commitment and faith in the mission of Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, which prepare and educate students for a life of service within the Archdiocese of America.
The upgrades are considered essential to create an optimal learning environment and enhance the academic and intellectual experience of the students.
As stated by Arlene Siavelis Kehl, the president of the National Philoptochos, the organization, along with its 40 active branches and members, remains fully committed to supporting the school and its mission. Their dedication focuses on ensuring a strong educational foundation for the future of the Greek Diaspora, in a secure environment equipped with cutting-edge technologies.
On his part, Dr. Dimitrios Katos, president of the school, expressed his gratitude for the continuous support from Philoptochos, noting that this support is crucial to the school’s development. He also commended the efforts of President Arlene Siavelis Kehl, First Vice President Anita Kartalopoulos, and all the members of the administration who coordinated the remarkable work of the Greek Orthodox women in the United States.
It is worth noting that the Greek government, along with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, made a bold decision back in November 2020 to provide significant financial support to the school, a commitment that is now being implemented.
