In the presence of a crowd of believers, the celebration of the Pentecost, the birthday of our Church, was held at the Holy Metropolis of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia.
Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia officiated the Matins (Orthros) and then performed the Festive Divine Liturgy at St. Anastasia’s Church of Perissos, Nea Ionia, with the participation of clerics of the Holy Metropolis.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy and according to the formality and customs of our Church, the “Kneeling Vesper” was performed, during which the so called Kneeling Prayers were read.
Finally, Metropolitan Gabriel wished everyone to have in their soul the energy and luminance of the Holy Spirit, which has formed the institution of the Church and which has come to continue the apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, shepherding and teaching ministry of Christ “all to kingdom come”, ever and ever.
