Patriarchate of Georgia: Metropolitan Seraphim (Jojua) fell asleep in the Lord

Patriarchate of Georgia: Metropolitan Seraphim (Jojua) fell asleep in the Lord

The Patriarchate of Georgia has announced that Metropolitan Seraphim (Jojua) passed away unexpectedly late last night at the age of 64. Deep condolences are extended to all who hold his memory dear.

His body will lie in repose today, November 5, at the Sioni Cathedral in Tbilisi, where memorial services and prayers will be held over the next three days. Divine Liturgies will begin each morning at 9:00 a.m.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., followed by his burial at Koshigora Monastery, where Metropolitan Seraphim had been serving in recent years.
