With the blessing of Patriarch John X of Antioch, both Deaconate and Priesthood Ordinations of Yusuf Papasoğlu were completed by placing the hand of Bishop Constantine (Kayal) in the Patriarchal Monastery of Saint Elias Chwayya in Lebanon, on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, 2020.
The new priest took Saint Nicolas as a patron saint and will be serving the parish in the city of Alexandretta.
Father Nicolas was born in Sarilar in the Sanjak of Alexandretta. He graduated with a BA in Theology from the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology at the University of Balamand in 2019, having joined the Institute with the blessing of the pastor of the diocese of Aleppo, Iskenderun, and dependencies, Metropolitan Paul. He is married to Habibe Kusoglu.
During the Liturgy for the priesthood ordination, Father Christophoros was promoted to the rank of Archimandrite.
