Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, John X, received Metropolitan Gregory of Cameroon and Metropolitan John of Zambia, representatives of the Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria, at the patriarchal residence in Balamand.
The Metropolitans informed the Patriarch about the developments that this Patriarchate experienced after the Church of Moscow invented the new “Exarchate of Africa”.
During the session, the meeting of the Patriarchs of the four Apostolic Patriarchates was discussed, which was proposed by Ecumenical Patriarchate to take place shortly before Holy Week.
The Patriarch of Antioch reiterated to the delegation of Alexandria what he had said to the envoy of the Ecumenical Patriarch, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, that the Holy Synod of Antioch would meet soon to discuss the developments of the Orthodox Church.
The Metropolitan Elias Kfouri of Sidon and Tire, was also present.
It is reminded that John X, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, received recently Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, envoy of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, at the patriarchal residence in Balamand.
The Elder Metropolitan carried an invitation to participate in the meeting of the four Apostolic Patriarchates, proposed to be held before the Great Lent and Holy Week in Constantinople, to discuss the issues facing the Orthodox Church regarding the Russian intrusion to the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
The meeting raised the discussion about the historical relations uniting the Churches of Antioch and Constantinople, as well as the overall emerging issues.
