On the occasion of the great feast of the Sunday of Orthodoxy, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will preside over the Great Vespers on Saturday, February 28, at the Patriarchal Cathedral at 4 p.m.
The following day, Sunday, March 1, he will preside over the customary Patriarchal and Synodal Divine Liturgy. During the liturgy, he will ordain Vladimir Konichshev as a deacon. Konichshev will serve in the Patriarchal Exarchate in Lithuania.
Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon will deliver the festal sermon of the day.
Following the dismissal, the Trisagion will be offered for the repose of those who struggled and fell for our Orthodox faith. This will be followed by a procession of holy icons led by the Patriarch and concelebrating hierarchs.
