Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia received Metropolitan Iakovos of Mytilene and his clerical delegation on October 10, 2025, at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade.
During the cordial meeting, Metropolitan Iakovos — well known for his decades of sincere devotion, charitable service, and heartfelt love for the Serbian people — expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome. He also requested the Patriarch’s archpastoral blessing and prayers for the clergy and faithful entrusted to his care.
Metropolitan Iakovos conveyed the greetings, brotherly love, and prayerful unity of the faithful of the Greek Orthodox Church toward the entire Church of Saint Sava.
Concluding his visit to the Serbian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Iakovos will serve the Divine Liturgy in the town of Brod, within the Diocese of Zvornik-Tuzla, on October 14, 2025 — the Feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos — and will take part in the celebration of the municipal feast day.
The meeting was also attended by Metropolitan Nikodim of Dalmatia.
