With the blessing of Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia, ribbons blessed on the Honourable Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos have been prepared over several days at the Church Charitable Service premises.
These will be distributed to the faithful following the Ascension Day procession in Belgrade.
Yesterday’s visit by Patriarch Porfirije brought great joy and encouragement to the volunteers, as he met with them and spent time in warm and heartfelt conversation. The Patriarch also personally took part in packaging the ribbons, demonstrating that unity, service, and love for one’s neighbour are most powerfully confirmed through deeds.
As Serbia prepares to welcome one of the most sacred Christian relics, the efforts of the volunteers have become a precious testament to the unity and living faith of the Serbian people.
