Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia hosted members of the Serbian Association “Karađorđe” from Herceg Novi at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade today.
During a warm and heartfelt discussion, the guests introduced the Patriarch to their work and dedication in preserving Serbian cultural heritage, tradition, and history in Herceg Novi, Boka Kotorska, and throughout Montenegro. They particularly emphasized their contributions to maintaining historical memory, as well as safeguarding Serbian folklore and traditional music.
Celebrating Serbian Cultural Heritage
As part of the visit, members of the association performed two traditional Serbian melodies from the coastal region, accompanied by the gusle, a symbolic and historical instrument of Serbian heritage.
Patriarch Porfirije expressed his joy and appreciation for their visit, commending their efforts in preserving Serbian identity and cultural heritage. He also underscored the importance of such initiatives, which strengthen spiritual and cultural ties between Serbia and Montenegro.
