Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia sent a congratulatory message today to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow on the feast of Saint Cyril Equal-to-the-Apostles, the heavenly patron and name day of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Among other things, the message states:
“Your Holiness, our beloved brother and concelebrant in Christ,
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ! (Romans 1:7)
We warmly congratulate you on the feast day of your heavenly patron – Saint Cyril Equal-to-the-Apostles – the Christ-glorified enlightener of the Slavic lands. May the Lord, through the prayers of His wondrous saint Cyril, grant you an abundance of blessings, spiritual and physical strength, and wisdom, so that through your ministry and personal witness of faith you may glorify His all-beloved Name for many blessed years to come! Many years, Your Holiness!”
