Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia received the newly ordained clergy of the Archdiocese of Belgrade-Karlovci at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade on August 21, 2026.
The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere, with the Serbian Patriarch offering paternal guidance to the new priests and deacons.
Patriarch Porfirije reminded them of the significance of the gift they had received through ordination, as well as the responsibility and reverence with which they should approach their ministry.
He called on the new clergy to carry out their duties with zeal and to persevere in their mission among those who have not yet encountered the beauty and power of the Orthodox faith.
The newly ordained priests and deacons also shared with the Patriarch their first experiences of liturgical and pastoral ministry.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Patriarch Porfirije presented them with their certificates of ordination and commemorative gifts. The priests received Books of Needs, while the deacons were given liturgical service books. A group photograph was taken afterward.
